A tradition of quality glasswork

Origin Story

Ann Arbor, MI

My father was a stained glass artist in when I was a kid, and as I grew up I was excited to learn the skills myself, and apprenticed under him fresh out of high school. I've been working with stained and beveled glass now for over 30 years, with another 45 years of family experience in my corner.

Apart from making new art, we also have a long track record of top-notch restorations. From hundred-year-old local church window repairs to the full restoration of the leaded glass ceiling in the viewing room of the historic Freer House in Detroit, we pride ourselves on decades of customer satisfaction and bringing neglected glass back to vibrant life.

Carving Rainbows is located in Canton, MI, and is the next evolution of the family business, aimed at modern home decor as well as the traditional window making we are known for. Look for exciting new products such as glass flowers, tissue box covers, mini-windows that fit in desktop picture frame, light up jewelry boxes, and of course, fun all-weather suncatchers and yard decor.

Custom commissions are welcome and we look forward to making the perfect bespoke addition to your home that will add lasting elegance and value to your spaces.

Carving Rainbows is dedicated to the enhancement of everyone's life and happiness by filling as many homes as we can with beautiful works of art, and we look forward to being able to add color, light, and love to your homes and lives through glass.
